Talus Films is hiring a Marketing & Business Development Associate  



Talus Films is an eco-conscious, full-service film production company based in Chicago, IL. We’re passionate about telling inspiring stories while giving back to the world around us. We specialize in creating live action video content - such as brand films/videos, interviews, short narratives, social media, and video ads/teaser - for brands who are adventurous, curious, and innovative. We work with our clients from early concept development through final project delivery to bring their missions’ to life and inspire their audiences through video.


We also work to reforest our US National Forests by donating to have trees planted for each project we produce.



As our Marketing & Business Development Associate, you’ll spearhead our lead generation through marketing and inbound/outbound sales efforts. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on the growth of our small, start-up company. You’ll work closely with our Business Director to develop and implement marketing and sales strategies related to building a steady pipeline of potential clients while positively representing Talus Films.


What You’ll Do

  • Research and prospect new clients via email, phone, and various other strategies to grow our client pipeline in line with monthly goals

  • Develop and maintain paid ad and/or search campaigns

  • Build out and/or maintain our various online profiles

  • Write and publish our bi-monthly blog via our website

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow our mailing list subscribers

  • Build out various email campaigns (ie: nurturing drip campaigns, new blog posts, announcements, etc)

  • Develop and schedule organic social media posts

  • Maintain and update website content, as needed

  • Seeking out past client testimonials and referrals, as needed


Experience & Skills You’ll Need

  • Educational background and/or previous work experience with Marketing (1 year preferred), Sales (1 year preferred), and lead generation

  • Experience working with a CRM (Hubspot preferred), automated Marketing campaign tools (ActiveCampaign preferred), Google Drive/Suite, website building tools (Wix preferred), Google Analytics, social media posting tools (Later preferred), and building/maintaining paid ad and search campaigns.

  • Experience and understanding of working for a startup and/or young, small businesses.

  • Experience being flexible and adaptable - a quick learner and self-starter with a positive attitude who is looking to jump right in, bring ideas to the table, and make an impact.

  • Experience being client-facing and providing great customer service.


Role Specifics

  • This role works remotely (Chicagoland preferred) and is a paid part time, contractor position.

  • The role’s schedule is flexible and currently set for 20 hours per week for up to 14 weeks. Hours worked will generally be in between 9 and 5 pm CT Monday through Friday.

  • This role is temporary with potential for extension. We’re looking for someone to start at the end of February/beginning of March 2021 and work through the end of May 2021.

  • Access to your own personal computer and reliable internet will be required.
